The Haast Heli team are passionate about hunting, fishing and the outdoors. We enjoy seeing our customers having memorable and successful trips. Many of our pilots, ground crew and of course our guides have local hunting and fishing experience and are happy to share their knowledge with you.
We customize every trip to suit all needs and requirements, and provide satellite communication's in case of emergency.Haast has a temperate climate so hunting is available all year round. After only a short flight from our Haast base, we will have you on the tops hunting Chamois, Tahr or down in a valley chasing Red Deer or Brown Trout. Huts are also available to book through doc .

The West Coast of the South Island is well renowned for HimalayanÂ Tahr and with the southward spread there are Tahr accessible only a short flight from Haast or one of our bases.
Chamois introduced to New Zealand as a gift in 1907 have spread there way through the south Island and now good numbers can be found around Haast.

West Coast Surfcasting Surfcasting on the West Coast is bountiful given the extensive remote coastline. You can get Snapper, Gurnard, Kahawai, Elephant Fish, School Sharks, Rig & Cod.
Red deer were brought to New Zealand by European settlers in the 1850's and 1860's and is now the most wide spread deer species in New Zealand.
Haast Heli in conjunction with our other bases James Scott and Fox & Franz Heliservices we are also the longest standing operator flying parties in and out of the blocks.
